Denver’s Dangerous Theatre is excited to be able to offer such a treat to the Denver theatre audience. A Time to Go Walking has been a sell out in many Canadian and European cities. When it was produced at the Orlando (FL) Fringe Theater Festival people were scalping the $10 tickets for upwards of $50!  A Time to Go Walking is a love story about death. Beautifully written such that the audience laughs as much as it cries. Set in rural Western Ireland, dreamer Dicky Mick Dicky believes his own demise is near and plans to walk out to meet it while his suffering wife Kate knows not what to do about her own impending death. It is easy to befriend these characters and feel for them and their enduring devotion. Tissues will be provided!

More about Timothy and Ellen

Here’s what the press had to say about A Time to Go Walking:

KERRYMAN
Based on the novels of JOHN B KEANE [Ireland’s favorite writer] this extraordinary play peruses the antics of the hero [DICKY MICK DICKY, Peter Mc Garry] and his ‘impending death’.  Rather than await the inevitable, Dickey, to the chagrin of his long-suffering wife, [KATE, Erin Geraghty] decides it is time to head off west, like the Celts did in Ancient Times and walk into the ‘Otherworld’

Beautifully scripted this is old-tyme Irish romance. Funny and tear jerking. It’s a treat!

MAIL
A beautiful sojourn into the mysterious, mesmerizing, magical life of Dicky Mick Dicky, resident of Barra’s Well in the remote West of Ireland – and the hysterically funny situations he creates, not least walking off into the sunset to start life over as an angel.  A tale of love and death beautifully told, brilliantly illustrated. Bring your handkerchief.

 LIVERPOOL ECHO
You’ll laugh and cry and laugh again. Bring some tissues!

 EVENING NEWS [MANCHESTER]
Mysterious, magical, enthralling. This is a tale for the pure romantics. Witty and wild, the action never stops. Clever stuff from Eyewitness.

ORLANDO SENTINEL
Blarney? Of course it is!  But very, very funny and beautifully written blarney. Five stars!

ORLANDO WEEKLY
At last, something different. Love, romance, passion and mystery. Not a dry eye in the house. Just goes to show you don’t need bare flesh to get the crowds and you don’t need toilet humor to get them laughing.

 EDMONTON JOURNAL
Romance is the feast on offer down at this year’s festival. Lots of it.  That is – if you like romance. I don’t - but the packed-out audience did. I didn’t think the humorous situations were necessarily that funny. OK a bare bum being whipped with fresh nettles – maybe. And I didn’t think the jokes were that clever. But the audience did. And it doesn’t matter what I say in this review because A TIME TO GO WALKING is sold out all week.  It’s a play about impending death. And it’s sold out. So - something’s going down. Just wish I knew.

 WINNIPEG FREE PRESS
Absolutely wonderfully heartliftingly, inspiringly magically romantic. Bring some tissues and some chocolate! It doesn’t get better than this!

Now is the time to make reservations to see Mission to Zolbott at Denver 's Dangerous Theatre. Not since the Rocky Horror Show has there been a staged performance with strange sexual practices, music that makes the audience want to get up and dance and a maniacal protagonist in drag! Really! I'm not kidding! The Cast

Mission to Zolbott is a sci-fi, musical comedy about sex, shopping and DISCO! It follows the crew of the spaceship Conundrum on its mysterious mission to the planet Zolbott. It is the Captain's first mission. What can go wrong? For starters, his First Mate is a sex addict, his Communications Officer is a fashion whore and his Navigational Hologram Program loves TV from the late 20th century Earth. Plus, a night of over-indulging leads the Captain to accidentally release a deadly nemesis back into the Universe! Warning: Adult language and themes. (and Disco!)The Gun

Winnie Wenglewick, Dangerous Theatre’s owner wrote and directed this little number, based on an Extreme Playwright's Adventure first done at her theatre in Orlando . The wonderful cast includes: Brian Alexander, Lauren Holmes, Aaron M. Lee, J. Edward Nelson, Tim Nikkel, Keith Wright and Madona Like a PrayorWinnie herself.  She didn't plan, or want, to be in this production.  Unfortunately a cast member left one week before opening of the play and she stepped in to fill the slack! She hadn't planned to return to the stage until December when we bring back Kama Sutra. (Yes, that is a blatant plug!)

Meet the Cast and Crew.

Warning: Adult content and language.

Remember, at Denver’s Dangerous Theatre all ticket prices include appetizers and cold sodas. Our Sunday Cabaret style performances offer served yummie treats and sodas and sparkling cider!
