Black Stockings received a 3 out of 4 star review from John Moore of the Denver Post for the April 2011 production.

Black Stockings is a Brechtian styled musical review/play that, on the surface, is about a couple of sex workers in a brothel in Manchester, England. They are brazen, brash and maybe even vulgar. Donna, the matriarch of the two, is weary from existing but attempting to see the bright side of life whenever she can muster up the energy. Trish is younger, still optimistic about life and relationships outside the brothel. Trish's past relationship with her Granddad becomes the thread between morality in war and in life as a sex worker. The casualties of war are not always immediate or easily identified.

Dangerous Theatre offered a 5 week run of this play in April 2011 and word of mouth (and the Post Review) lead to sold out performances the last two weekends. Many called in the weeks after is closed, so we are bringing it back. When it launched in April 2011 we issued a dare to all the critics in town to come see it. John Moore was the only one to see it (or even reply to the dare) She will offer the same dare this time around, not only to the critics, but to you as well. This play is what good theatre is made of. It will make you laugh. It will make you cry. It will make you think. Come see it. Take a chance.
We tripple dog dare you.
Warning: Adult language and themes & an anatomically correct inflatable man.
